Southwest Dekalb High schoolThe name describes the location of the Decatur, GA school but it hardly describes the history. A school that has produced doctors, lawyers, pH D professionals, Teachers, hip hop choreographers, music producers, Olympic athletes, actors, radio personalities, foot ball players, the best high school band, and not to mention football and track state champions. If you did not attend you don't understand my SWD pride.Class of 1996The Olympic Class. Not only did we graduate the year that the Olympics came to Atlanta, GA we also participated. Are band was featured in the opening ceremonies and are classmates in later years became medalist. We have several doctors MDs and Ph Ds, two hip hop choreographers, Teachers and a plethora of working professionals. We have taken the words of the song “We are Young Gifted and Black” and lived them. If you are not us I understand your envy. If you are one of the few I understand your pride.
