Kid Coma

I edited the profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4....Kid Coma is the name of this very alternative form of band. The name is derived by Doug whose musical life went into a sort-of musical coma when his 3 children were born between 1979 and 1982. After the coma passed in 1995 Doug started building instruments, composing, and playing in local clubs with son Nathan. The twosome then hooked up with Scott three years ago and then with various other people including Peter Turpin last year and Kent MacMillan most recently.The band writes and plays its own material that Peter has dubbed “Eco-punk”, since Doug puts a lot of his ecological science into the music.Scott plays lead guitar, slide guitar, and bass. Bass is currently being played by either Scott or Kent MacMillan. Nathan plays drums. Doug plays acoustic, slide and electric guitar.Our material varies from folk, to country, country rock, straight ahead rock and roll as well as punk. Some people say that Doug sounds like Neil Young. Doug takes that as a compliment.The songs are about lots of things but the main focus is human encroachment on the planet and on each other. We want the material to be fun and serious at the same time.
