The Starseed Project

About Me

The StarSeed Project is based in the South Eastern U.S. and draws from a wide range of styles to create it's own signature sound. Varying from a wide range of influences of sounds from Iron Maiden to Stone Temple Pilots to Toad the Wet Sprocket, this band creates a sound that you just can't stick in one genre.
"Harking back to late '90s alternative rockers Our Lady Peace, The Starseed Project's lofty brand of clamoring guitars and downcast vocals explores a similar territory while bearing a bit of Columbia's enigmatic loud rock allure. Memorable riffs and pummeling basslines forge their sound into an intricate layering of post-grunge that fans who are still lingering onto the sound that Collective Soul, Tonic, and Pearl Jam struggle to keep alive are sure to enjoy." (Ryan Kitchens, Columbia City Paper).
"The Starseed Project are replanting big rock roots with a contemporary façade by going back to the basics of loud guitars, booming bass and drums and a soaring vocalist. If this Columbia band's name is borrowed from the Our Lady Peace song, "Starseed," it would make a lot of sense; its brand of grandiose rock is on a par with that Canadian band's late '90s output". (k. Oliver, Columbia FreeTimes).
"If your iPod playlists lean heavily toward late-‘90s rock such as Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul and Big Wreck, then you need to hear The Starseed Project, in effect the local equivalent. Forged a couple of years ago from members of several other local bands across a wide range of genres, somehow they have ended up with a solid, monolithic sound on songs such as “Overcome” —perfect for sweaty, fist-pumping rock fans to sing along with. — K. Oliver
"The Starseed Project—Mainstream modern rock sometimes doesn’t get the respect it deserves (See Nickelback, for instance), but this local band does it better than most". - Kevin Oliver
Everyone in the band has performed at some time in front of music fans in the South East. Some of the bands they have performed with in the past include Fetish, Verloren Hoop, Day One, Doc Ellis and 5 Minute Major. Again, all of these different backgrounds brings the unique sound you just don't hear on today's radio and to the live performances they have produced. Already playing with headliners such as Drivin' N Cryin' and SafetySuit, the live show and recorded material is something to see and hear.
