Tim Plunkett *Session Drummer*

My name is Tim Plunkett and I am a Studio Musician and Producer from Greenfield, Indiana. I play a little bit of everything from Guitar, Piano, Bass guitar and so on. But like I always tell everyone... "I was born a drummer". I have my own studio where I get to record with all types of musicians and friends.

Ever since I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a musician. When I was little I used to bang on pots and pans with wooden spoons, all the time driving my parents crazy. I think they could tell early on I was going to be a drummer.
When I was in elementary school, my friends and I would dress up like a band and put on shows in the garage for the kids in the neighborhood. I finally started taking band class in 5th grade, playing anything and everything that anyone would teach me. I really wanted to play the drums, but it isn't something that they teach in 5th grade music class. So I settled for the piano, and the recorder. Though I wanted nothing more than to be a drummer, I always seemed to have a guitar lying around. When noone was looking, I used to pick it up and strum the strings, even though I didn't know any chords. When I got to junior high, I had a few friends that knew how to play guitar, and when I asked them nice enough, they would teach me chord progressions and songs. I knew at that moment music was going to be a big part of my life.
I then started joining any and every band I could find. I started jamming with bands from every genre including Blues, Jazz, Rock, Funk, etc. All the time learning everything I could about Drums and Drumming. I have been playing in numerous bands for the last 19 years as a drummer all the time recording and meeting new people along the way. I have played and recorded with some great musicians in my time and I'm thankful for everything I have learned along the way.
I have taken a little piece of musical knowledge from every band and every musician I have ever played with and though I am not sure where my musical journey will take me, I can be sure of one thing... Being a successful musician takes alot of time and hard work.
