About Me
My name is Christine (Margaret Cecilia) Webb. I am 19 years-old now, although I was 18 when I joined 'MySpace' in September 2006, and 'Facebook' on 19th February 2007. (I found the latter on my 'Blackboard' mailbox!!) I have also joined 'YouTube' recently, on 18th August 2007.
I am currently doing English Studies at Sheffield Hallam University, and I have just passed my 1st year!! I will be starting my 2nd year in October 2007, but I am unsure as to what I want to do after uni. Teaching is my biggest possibility (because I like working with children), but otherwise I will just have to wait and see where my Degree takes me. I am currently living and working at home with my family.
As for my personality...well, I like to think of myself as kind, sincere, cautious, apologetic, knowledgeable,
hard-working, understanding, open-minded, warm-hearted, bubbly, enthusiastic and, on the whole, friendly. However, I can also be mysterious, private, and almost a 'perfectionist' because (a) I don't like failure, and (b) I have a few 'skeletons' in my closet that I would rather not reveal to anyone. I also have 'mood swings', but I do try to repress them around my friends and/or people I know at uni. They usually occur when I am at home or going out with my family, for example, during a shopping trip etc.
I prefer to be called a Christian rather than a Roman Catholic, because I don't agree with everything the Catholic Church teaches...I'd rather not say what I disagree with, though. My family is middle-class and Roman Catholic, but...none of us are '100% perfect'. (This might mean everyone, but I only intended this to be a reference to my family.)
Lastly, there is one thing I would like to make clear to everyone: I have a medical condition called
Asperger's Syndrome. I have been diagnosed with this since my birth, but since then I have not been afraid to reveal it. ('Asperger's' is pronounced as 'jers' at the end, although others think it might sound like 'gers', as in 'burgers'. I don't mind which way you pronounce it, though!!) Essentially, when a person has 'Asperger's Syndrome', they may/may not look like normal people to you.
But, the main symptoms of Asperger's are: low communication skills, preferring to work independently rather than in groups, a 'robotic' voice, and being shy or nervous about change or being with other people etc.
In spite of these 'weaknesses', I am trying to improve on them. Although, as with most medical conditions these days, I will never be rid of it. But, what I will do is to try to be less miserable and more happy. That is the best I can do for you.
