For the last 15 years this recording project has been a part of my everyday life as a vocalist. Even though I have spent 20 years performing rock, funk, soul and R&B, I have always wanted to make a recording without instruments. All the sounds are therefore created through vocals, singing, beat boxing, body percussion, claps etc. Furthermore I have experimented a lot with different sample-loops, both digital and analogue to help express the mood of the different songs.
I have been touched and influenced by gospel music for many years. Despite the fact, that in the beginning I was an atheist. The essence of gospel music is, at least as I perceive it, a message that comes from the heart. A loving message, that speaks to your soul, wherever you are in your life.
Recording is a living process that reflects where you are right now as an artist, and who you are right now as a person. Because we are constantly evolving and following new paths in our lives, I have consequently altered the songs and lyrics so that they reflect who I am today. Making this recording has been a fantastic, fun and educational process.
This is a very special CD release for me. I hope it touches you. Makes you think. Enjoy.
