Lynette AKA Mz Tiny Winey was brought up in Hackney, East London, going to raves before she new the meaning of the word!
Brought up surrounded by music (her mother a songwriter and her father a legendary reggae artist) getting involved in music came naturally. At the age of Nine,Tiny started playing pan for Pantonic Steel Orchestra (which was formed by her late grandfather “BIGGS†Yearwood),a couple of years later moving into promotions for under 18’s (Jungle events) she teamed up with cousin Sexxy Dee and other members(mostly guys) of Pantonic who shared the same interest in music (promotions included projects with Rebel MC and Dj’s & Mc’s from Kool fm). This is when Tiny got very involved in the Music scene but because of the negativity of being a female in the industry she took a back seat on being a Dj and decided to focus more on Steel pan.
Her Parents background of the Caribbean (St. Vincent & Jamaica) developed her musical taste; you can feel the sun shining through the vibrant music she plays, and she touches many genres, from hip hop to RnB, reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and Pop nothing is off-limits…Her sets are fluid, exiting and exotic. She is truly a versatile dj.
It was in 2003 the name Female Profile Sound was born, playing at house parties, free parties and local events.
In 2004-2005 Mz Tiny Winey & Miss Sexxy Dee attended Dj workshops at the WAC academy of performing arts and also at Visions (in conjunction with London’s first official Soca station- Lynx fm)
In 2006 Lynx fm radio played a big part in Tiny’s musical upbringing; Alongside Dj Roughneck she hosted the Friday breakfast show on Lynx FM, presenting an eclectic mix of underground Soca, reggae, dancehall, RnB and hip-hop. Female Profile Sound Hosted a Soca show,Sunset Sundays and the award winning Reggae request show on a Monday. In 2006 FPS achieved an Award for best Reggae show on Lynx fm and in 2007 1st Prize in Island competition “Soca Splashâ€.
In 2007 Tiny moved to Supreme fm and began co-hosting alongside new member of FPS Kandi a more popular radio show. FPS is one of the first resident DJs at Divas in control which helps to promote female Djs.FPS holds it down Sunday nights @ Trini Wine bar…DON’T MISS OUT, COME & CHECK US OUT!!!
