About Me

“And now, something completely different!” As the warm voice of Alexis Costalas replicates the famous Monty Pythons quote, a brassy Broadway sound leads us initially to the wrong conclusion. Then, within a few seconds we find ourselves standing amazed at what we are hearing. Blimey! This is fromEurovision!. . ............................................................ ......................Giorgis Christodoulou along with the Greek Broadcaster (ERT), take Eurovision a step further by releasing “euroREvisions”, an alternative approach to 12 former Greek entries. This kind of experiment might not be novel, but definitely for Eurovision it is the best attempt so far in creating new sounds whilst respecting the original tune. ... ..... . . . . . .................................................... . . . . ................................. In “euroREvisions” you will find: “Die for you” (Greece 2001) Giorgis Christodoulou twists this evergreen into a moody, jazz ballad and his lilting voice puts Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon into deep thoughts............................................... “Anixi” (Greece 1991) Manos Pyrovolakis marries his Cretan lyra with an electric guitar and the outcome is totally astonishing............................. “Mou les” (Greece 1983) Andianna Babali joined by the ERT String Quartet transform this elapsed entry into a classic....................................... “To diko sou asteri” (Greece 1989) Group Mikro carry on the sentiment of the song with their ambient sound and the whole world is smiling.......................... “Socrates” (Greece 1979) Evridiki & Dimitris Korgialas turn this Eurovision classic into a powerful dance-track and Socrates hits the dance floor....................................................... ............... “Autostop” (Greece 1980) The 5th Galaxy Orchestra takes us to a jingling, melodic trip, as we hear the voice of Anna Vissi from the original version joining the singer in the chorus...................................................... ............. “Mathema Solfege” (Greece 1977) Giorgis Christodoulou & Andrianna Babali transform this song into a passionate tango and we find our legs having a mind of their own......................................................... .................... “Charlie Chaplin” (Greece 1978) Menta & Irene Psychrami slow down the tempo and their psychedelic tunes convert Chaplin to an alternative rock ballad...................................................... ..................... “Olou tou kosmou i elpida” (Greece 1992) The sensational voice of Athena Routsi along with Giorgis’ lounge concept transform a wondeful song into a masterpiece................................................. ........... “Emis forame to himona anixiatika” (Greece 1996) Group Marsheaux revamp the original tune with electronica, making us think that this could be the missing track from Depeche Mode’s first album............................................. “euroREvisions” also include the tracks:................. “Miazoume” (Greece 1985)performed by Yannis Mathes and ...................“Krasi, thalassa ke t’ agori mou” (Greece 1974) performed by Jenny Botsi & Sany Hatziargyri
