About Me

I'm not going to talk about family, friends, weather, politics, etc. I am not going to talk about those things because there are enough people talking about those things. At this stage of my short span of time on this earth, I think we must really enjoy what we have been given. Enter....GOLDWING.There is nothing finer, in my humble opinion, than getting out on the road and riding until the sun goes down, and laying down wherever you end up at the end of the day--waking up and doing it all again. I am sure that there is some elemental part of the human that needs to discover and adventure out into the great unknown and see what's there. Of course, adventuring in comfort is more my speed, but you get the point. My first great adventure was Washington DC for Rolling Thunder. Second was Daytona Beach. I cannot tell you where future rides will be to, but I definitely want to do Alaska, Arctic Circle and Prudhoe Bay if I am up there during the right time of year. I want to do a coast-to-coast ride as soon as possible, too. I want to eat at Ma & Pa places only, enjoy local brew, and local music everywhere I stop. I can't wait.

My Interests

I like recording my own music in my own studio. It's not much, but it gets the ideas down on media.Motorcycle touring.

I'd like to meet:

My Dad, who died in 1970 when I was 5. I've got a few questions for him. That's about it.

Music:

Wow--I think I listen to about everything except Rap (Which I do not consider music).

Movies:

A good war movie is always fun.

Television:

You know--I am finding more and more that I don't really like TV. I watch American Idol, only for the entertainment value of it. Other than that, if there is some bad weather moving in, or a catastrophe that requires me to be informed, I don't watch much at all. I'd much rather be outside doing something, or on the road.

Books:

I am reading 3 books right now in succession: 'Roberts Ridge', by Malcolm MacPherson; 'Not a Good Day to Die' by Sean Naylor; 'Lone Survivor' by Marcus Luttrell with Patrick Robinson. Three books about our heroes this country places in front of the front lines. If you want to read something that will tear you up thinking of our bravest and best--these books are it.

Heroes:

Originally, I wrote in this space that I do not believe in heroes, only great people who have made great contributions. I want to change that--that's not really how I feel. I do believe we have heroes. I believe that there are few--not many--but there are heroes. Folks who spend a lifetime in service to others--I mean truly humbled service (Enter...Mother Teresa; The Pope; Ghandi; etc.)Soldiers/Police/Firemen. These folks are doing the hard jobs. I honor them all.
