FREEZE

Fred Freeze is the latest persona of the heart of dirty south independent production mainstay, Narc Prince. With 'not-so-humble' beginnings as a DJ for the independent group, "X Marks The Spot", Freeze has been involved in the hip-hop industry/culture since 1988. As a member of the local spoken word/Hip-Hop juggernaut R.I.O.T., Freeze further crafted his undeniably soulful sound: a blend of native tongue and southern street life.In 1994 Freeze scored a record deal with his group Silent Minority, which upon completion of his first E.P. quickly dissolved due to industry rule number 4080. He took this downtime and perfected many of his production skills and put it to use creating self-titled "Tragic City" project, a critically acclaimed blend of down-tempo/Hip-hop, which earned the group high independent sales. He went on to test the waters further as Narc Prince with the "Conceited Bastard" EP.As Fred Freeze, Prince plans on getting back to his roots in music and creating something fresh to lend his voice to the ever crowding soundscape called hip-hop. His sound is very soulful and daring in the face of blatant conformity.
