Life is like a stage, everyone performs. Like it or not, the audience decide if you did good. Well, on one hand you have to decide too what you wish to be known for and what you love best. If you can survive without the audience, you just play what you want, if not you have to get into the flow. Music is in everyone but not everyone is meant to be a musician. You can try to become one, until then you'll know what you are made of.
You don't have to email me to ask if I could be your friend. Just add me! And I'm sure to do like wise. Well, comment on my page if you will.... greatly appreciated.
The Singapore Music Scene
The music scene is now improving and there seems to be a lot of "concerts" being organised. Which is also a good start for young musicians. But the ugly thing is, the musicians don't get paid. And the uglier thing is, the musicians have to pay a price to play for a gig. Like selling of tickets, pay for 'administrative' fee. Which is just plain bull-shit! It is said as providing some platform but the real truth, there's really no platform. Come on guys! Unless it's for charity I think there's a real cause but to those money-oriented organisers, it's best that everyone should shun them off! I have been in the music industry for some time and I never 'pay' to perform. The only time I experience to 'pay' to perform, is with SBS where we performed at Gashaus. We have to sell a certain number of tickets in order to perform. I didn't know about it until the actual day which made me furious about the idea. Well, that's gonna be the last time I'll ever do that again. It's either for charity or you get paid!
To all young musicians out there!
If you're still 'paying' to play for a gig, think again. It actually shows how your pride is! Desperate to play? No confidence to get paid for your talent? If that is the case, you might as well not play in a band. Don't waste your time paying for those jamming sessions. Unless, you guys are just plain hobbyists then it's just alright to do so.
In god I trust!
