About Me

“Jesus never said he wuz the messiah!” says southern producer and rap officianado, Synister Soundz when asked why he’s so modest about his sinister production sound. “Jesus actions and works led people to believe he was the one, that’s how I’m approaching this game.” Strong words from an underground production and rap whisper, but Synister just might be the savior to southern hip hop, or better yet the entire genre. Growing up in Macon, Ga., Synister Soundz a.k.a., Grover Bell Jr. started rhyming around the time in the early 80’s when 808’s ruled and the rap scene was fresh into the mainstream market. “I used to listen to 2 Live Crew, Magic Mike, Sir-mix-a-lot, and The Beastie Boys. That’s about all we had, but I was more influenced by the movement of rap itself,” says Synister Syn started off rapping to instrumentals of other rappers beats, using the patented pause, stop, record, method, or “early sampling” as he likes to call it. Tired of that, he hooked up with a local producer in the Macon area at about 18 years old. The producer wouldn’t teach him to make beats, but he was also a slacker which gave Syn plenty of time to teach himself. “I just played with the equipment until it came to a point where I could make the shit do what I wanted it too,” says Syn. He went on to produce virtually every local artist in the Macon area, along with some Atlanta artist. He is now the hottest topic of the local scene and is ready to bring the heat to the rest of the world. With three solo albums, two compilations with various artist, a proven track record with all projects produced, arranged, recorded, mixed and written by Synister Soundz “himself”, he certainly seems like a miracle worker………fish and bread anyone?
