Mike is one of the Worlds top javelin throwers and is aiming to be in medal contention in the next 2 World Championships and ultimately the 2012 Olympic Games in London. After a successful 2008 season that culminated with a Number 10 World Ranking and Number 7 on the World Athletics Tour, Mike is looking to capitalize on his experience in competing in the 2008 Olympic Games, and make a push to the medal stand at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Germany. Mike is also making waves in the music industry as a major upcoming DJ in the southern California area and includes progressive house, tech house and electro beats in his audio arsenal. Aiming to combine world class athletics and music, Mike hopes to represent a new breed of entertainment that will reach eyes and ears all across the world. In addition, Mike also balances his time as a full time professional athlete with mentoring kids throughout the San Diego area for the non profit Organization In the Arena. In the Arena's mission is to change the trajectories of the lives of American youths by deploying in their communities today’s elite athletes, who teach them how to make habits of self-inquiry, accountability, leadership and achievement.
