About Me

I gave my life to Jesus on October 10, 1999. I married Dave Young on 2-9-02. We met at First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA and now live in Decatur. Dave is the CNN webmaster for Nascar.com, and works in Techwood. (Poor guy. You know I've converted him into a GA fan!) I became a stay-at-home mom in April 2003 when our son, Benjamin David, was born. In September 2004, We had our beautiful daughter, Lauren Elaine, and Alan Robert joined the crew in July 2006. All of my kids have gorgeous, brown, curly hair. Benjamin and Alan have my deep brown eyes, and Lauren had her daddy's bright, blue ones. Sadly, on 11-6-05, our Lauren passed away. She had a metabolic disorder (MCAD, http://www.fodsupport.org/mcad_fam.htm) that quickly ended her life that Sunday morning. This condition is diagnosable and treatable and GA now routinely screens newborns. Our new church home, Rehoboth Baptist, all of our friends and family, and our mighty Savior were our anchor through such a difficult time. As a result of our loss, we took our witness to the next level and my dad was saved. There are still many more that we are praying for to receive Christ, but we're thankful for God's sovereignty and for His purpose in our lives. We have that blessed assurance that we'll see Jesus holding our daughter when we get to heaven. If you haven't accepted Christ, consider praying to receive His forgiveness today. He's waiting with open arms.
