The first impression you get, when you listen to TIME ERASER, the debut single of Che Allen aka BEAM OUT, is that it has a strong Manchester-Rave feel. BEAM OUT grew up in Buffalo/New York, an industrial city on the Canadian border which is often compared to Manchester, because it's also a tough, kinda bleak, industrial city. The people are hard all-night partiers, Breakbeats are the main underground sound, and there is also a strong black funk vibe to the city (Rick James was from Buffalo). This clubmusic tendency united with his original inspirations like the Stones, Hendrix, Dylan, some Bubblegum Music and other eclectic sounds: As little Che was a radio junkie he intently listened to International radio broadcasts coming out of Toronto, Canada, a real multi-cultural melting pot with a very large East Indian population. Armed with a short-wave radio he tuned in radio broadcasts from around the world, particularly South America. Another interest was movie soundtracks. His passion was to tape the audio track from movies like Barbarella and Superfly and listen to them as though they were radio shows. Later he discovered Indian Film music and fell in love with the work of R.D. Burman, a Hindi film composer.
BEAM OUT initially played drum kit, and out of necessity, as there was always a piece missing in every high school band, he continued to pick up more instruments (guitar, bass, keyboards, and a variety of percussion). After dropping out of college, he retreated for nearly 2 years, living alone, spending all his time writing songs and learning the art of home recording. Later he emerged, and bussed across the country to Los Angeles. After some dabbling he joined the forming psychedelic rock band "The Warlocks", left the band a few years later to form his own project BEAM OUT. Basically it's just him, writing, recording and playing all the songs, but now and then gets some help by keyboardist Jason McGary, who is an electronic designer that builds and customizes effect boxes, synths and amps for Che. Time Eraser concerns the idea that time is all relative, and that if is disregarded you can live at your OWN pace. A watch is worn to adhere to OTHERS time perception, literally living on someone else's time. The single is taken from the forthcoming album "Believe Everything You Hear And All Of What You See".TV EYE Records
