dogyear was formed from the ashes of a band called 'Killing For Culture'. A would-be seminal underground success (UK’s Kerrang Magazine loved them) if the band hadn’t of self-destructed on the brink of taking off.
The surviving members Adi, Snippy and Tony, joined forces with RichT (former guitarist of UK rockers 'thirst') and completed the line up in January 2002.
By combining their influential efforts, the dogyear ‘sound’ became a real mixture. A.D and Tony’s background in noise groups and hardcore fuse with Snippy and RichT’s more mainstream sensibilities to create heavy yet hooky songs.
The band released their first four track outing ‘Document 1’ on NDT Recordings in January 2004 to critical acclaim. Brad Blackwood, famous for his work with ZZ Top and Evanescence, mastered the CD.
The band is not satisfied with just sitting in the studio though. dogyear is an excellent live band with years of experience on the live circuit, never failing to impress.
