MALLE VAN MARWICK
Malle van Marwick was born on 18 th AUGUST 1977 in Dortmund, Germany. Already as a child and teenager he was more than just interested in music and so he learned to play a lot of different instruments. After a few band projects he founded his own One-man-band "The Norm" in 1996. "The Norm" was mainly influenced by the muiscwave of the 80`s, a mixture of Rock-Pop, but also classic & electronic gothic Sounds. In March'05, after nine years of existence, he finally closed the chapter "The Norm" after a farewell concert in Dortmund (Germany). April `05 saw Malle van Marwick rising again with a new beginning with Dark Instance. He`s been heavily into EBM and Industrial and he`s also been in contact with the gothic scene for decades. Aware of the continous change and musical progress, Malle van Marwick wanted to become Dark Instance a lot more focused on a direct musical & lyrical approach. That was the very reason for the name Dark Instance Malle van Marwick`s intention with Dark Instance is to show his own point of view of what is Gothic and what`s behind the meaning of Gothic music. After he had finished his debüt album Soulhunter, it was very clear that Dark Instance is able to gain much more attention in comparision to his former projects. Using distorted sounds for beats and including melodic influences and samples taken from different kind of movies, his sound should remind of the "old" Gothic sounds while giving them a new form of life. After a while the 2nd album "Wir können auch am Tag" had followed and it`s sounds soon became clubhits, for example " Der dunkle Wald". The cover drawings of both recordings were done by a good and longtime friend (Frank Krynojewski) Meanwhile Malle van Marwick has been working out his 3rd album "Embryo" which should be finished in August 2006. According to van Marwick this album will feature even more melodic but distorted sound elements than ever before. Malle van Marwick work now for the first concerts and the same time for an remix-album.
DORIAN
Dorian was born in 1988 in Ulm, Germany. In his early childhood he moved to Ennepetal near Dortmund. He always was interested in music and so he decided to play guitar and bass-guitar in the age of 12. At this time he was very into Punkrock, so he founded a Punkband with his best friends at that time. After three years and some gigs he decided to quit and he left the band because of some personal problems and the changing of mind and interests. In the meantime he was fascinated of the goth-scene because it fited to his thoughts and imaginations. During this time he missed making music a lot so he tried to get into some bands or found a new one, but it has been gone wrong everytime until Malle asked him on a party to work as live-musican for Dark Instance. He agreed very pleased because he liked Dark Instance´s music very much. Since September 2006 he is a firm component of Dark Instance after he sold his soul to mastermind Malle van Marwick.
