I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 7 years old as I had I “ private teacher †@ home, the Brazilian singer Djavan. Than I had electric guitar lessons @ the age of 15. Later, I decide to take it seriously and went to LA to study @ Musicians Institute in 1992 coming back to Brazil a year later, the time that I begun my first professional gigs, by the age of 20.
Playing with some new artists like Zé Ricardo and Bernardo Lobo I also had a chance to play with big names such as Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo among others. In 1996 I joined a band called Sindicato soul, doing a lot of concerts here in Brazil with a mix between American black music with the Brazilian flavor. In 1998 I joined Djavan’s band, doing with him 5 records and 2 DVDs and several tours in Brazil, Europe and USA. In the middle of 1999 I started recording my first solo album, writing songs, producing and singing. In 2000 I went to LA to record with Wayne voughn, the Earth, wind and fire's producer who wrote the multi platinum hit "Let's groove". The album “ No calcadao†was released in 2003 in Brazil and Portugal and had the song “Canções de rei†as a theme for a tv show. After some concerts all around Brazil and recordings with other people I started recording the new one which is going to be released in 2006. “ Com mais cor†is also produced by myself. I wrote some songs with partners and some alone recording with the same band that did the first album.As I listen to more music the more I get inspired, and this has been the best learning method for me: listening to everybody else’s songs.
