I'm a junior in high school. If you want the things I could label myself as I'm a vegetarian, feminist, atheist, straight edge, and bisexual. I have a very eclectic taste in music, and I take certain exceptional songs that strike my liking, and put them in the fantastic group of music that I enjoy. I love Japanese pop music, classic rock, alternative rock, obscure foreign music, indie rock, blues, big band, Brechtian Punk Cabaret, and so on and so forth.I am Harry Potter obsessed. The Vampire Chronicles are more than amazing, as are most of Anne Rice's novels. I work at Showplace, and it's pretty darn amazing. I am more than dedicated to my schools Drama Club. Being on Costumes Crew consumes my life, but I enjoy it more than I can express. I write, less than I read, poetry, short stories, prose, and random bits of thought. Well that's me in a very small nutshell.So... I was supposed to write a poem about myself that was extremely frank... so... here it is.The openness revealed in frown and her smile, Entice trouble to come for more than awhile. She longs to let it free, She hides behind those ideas to be, Hypocritical, though honest to some, More, or less, she will regret it when the day is done. Independence is key, But it comes with a fee. Often the good opinion of others, And oft her mother’s. Her sanity is irrelevant, And dramatic at best. Nothing to be bothered with, Nothing to get off her chest. She holds what others don’t seem to want. No sign of connection, Applies, to that faraway glance. She declines to take a shaky chance. Piercing those brown-green eyes can be, But look closely and you will see, Love, and devotion, hiding beneath, Like a dagger hard to pull from it’s sheath. Tunes in, turns out. She’s not alone in doubt, Though she strives to try, To erase those fears, Those little words of harm will not make her fly, Away. Stronger than some, More defensive than most, One would think she’s waiting for a toast, In her honor, to slowly arise, But she will have no surprise, When no sound will come close, To that she found, In her own voice, When it does resound.
