JIGGY crossoverband

Jiggy, headed by Sarah (vocals) and Nuria (keyboard & vocals), was founded in 2004 in Barcelona. Their songs have both a melodic and powerful sound, based on pop-rock and containing a groovy touch of R&B, which give the band a peculiar and attractive style. Jiggy has won two second prizes at two different competitions: Rubifest (Barcelona) and TheMusicDirectory (UK), and has been semifinalist at the international contest Emergenza. The band has performed in several places around Barcelona, including Youth Festivals and the Theme Park Port Aventura. Jiggy has a wide range of influences: black music (Destinys Child, NERD, Boyz II men, Aretha Franklin), 80s rock (Queen, U2), spanish and international pop-rock (Hanson, Kelly Clarkson, No Doubt), and even nu-metal (Linkin Park, Evanescence).

Sus canciones tienen un sonido melodico pero a la vez contundente, basado en el pop-rock y con toques de R&B, que le da al gupo ese estilo peculiar y atractivo. Jiggy ha ganado dos segundos premios en dos concursos: Rubifest (Rubi) y TheMusicDirectory (GB), y ha sido semifinalista del concurso internacional Emergenza. El grupo ha actuado en varios sitios de la provincia de Barcelona y Tarragona, inclusive festivales y el parque tematico Port Aventura. Jiggy tiene variedad de influencias: musica negra (Destinys Child, NERD, Boyz II men, Aretha Franklin), rock de los 80 (Queen, U2), pop-rock nacional e internacional (Hanson, Kelly Clarkson, No Doubt), e incluso nu-metal (Linkin Park, Evanescence).
