About Me

My name is Joyce; most people just call me J. I live in northeast Indiana with my fiancé, Mark, and our two cats, Sammy and Zina. I grew up in the Toledo, Ohio area and because of job relocations, have also lived in St. Louis, Missouri and Lexington, Kentucky. If you've never been to Lexington, you must plan a visit. It's a little slice of heaven...so beautiful. I moved to Indiana in July of 2004 to be with Mark after a year and a half long-distance relationship. We've known each other since early 1984 and have been together as a couple for 6 years. He popped the question, asking me to marry him in July of 2005. We haven't set a wedding date because we are kept very busy with his band, but life is good and we couldn't be happier. I believe the world would be a better place if we all treated each other the way we, personally, want to be treated. I've never been very good at confrontation, speaking my mind or sticking up for myself but as I've aged, I've gotten better at it. I respect other people's feelings so I still choose my words carefully and I'm careful to pick my battles. I try not to sweat the small stuff but get tired of other people's crap and drama getting dumped on our doorstep. I realize I'm not perfect so I don't expect that from others. However, I treat people with respect, I don't lie and I accept responsibility for my errors and my mistakes so I believe I'm reasonable in expecting those same things from the people in my life. Unfortunately that isn't always the case. I have tendencies to keep my negative emotions like anger, hurt, fear and frustration bottled up inside me. Mark is teaching me to not do that but I'm still very much a work in progress. He has the patience of a saint. I am extremely intuitive and at times over sensitive. I have been let down by people in my life who I never thought would let me down. I've learned to hate drama and have tried to distance myself from negative people. I hate the "F" word and the "G-D" word. I love my family, animals and music (and have the utmost respect for the geniuses who create it.) I love my friends and would do anything for any of them. I am a girly-girl and enjoy being feminine. Regrets in life - I have a few...not having a child, not getting a degree and in all the freakin' concerts I've been to over the years, I never saw Journey live. I mean the Journey with Steve Perry cause that's the only REAL Journey. I miss both my Grandmothers and my dog, Jersey, and I thank God everyday that I still have both my Parents.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

.... ..I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

..I'm open to meeting and forming friendships with just about anyone and have met some of the most extraordinary people here on MySpace. I'm from the school of thought that you can never have too many friends! I am particular, however, about who I let "in" on an intimate level. I have often been described as "reserved" and someone who gives the impression of aloofness until I really get to know someone and build a level of trust. I am intrigued by and in awe of people who have talents that I don't and can do things that I can't, so I love meeting people from all different walks of life. I don't belong to Classmates.com or any of those "find me" organizations, so I'm hoping that by creating this page, I might reconnect with friends from years gone by. Oh, yeah...and Steve Perry.
