Freedom in rock. This is what I believe. But what is freedom. It is the god given right in everyone that gives permission to do what is right willingly. Not forced. There is freedom in rock because unlike pop, Popularity ruins the very essence of rock. Rock is supposed to be hidden. It is the hidden feeling in all of us. Anger, hate, depression etc. It remains hidden unless we declare it. not many people can do that. Only a few do not conform.Distorted guitars and heavy drumlines do not declare if a song is under the rock genre. Even the heaviest rock bands can be sell outs.
