MALENA Y KAREN "ACTITUD MARIA MARTA"Born in an elevator in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Carmenlydia has been on the rise ever since. A few days after she wasborn her family moved to NY where she was raised until 2005 when Miami became her permanent residency andnew beginning.Fascinated by music at an early age, Carmen took it upon herself to learn how to play various instruments.She learned to play by ear and even seasoned pros are astonished at how much she knows in regard to theory. Aside from being quite adept at handling different instruments, Carmen is also emerging as a gifted songwriter. Often accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she has crafted some incredibly catchy melodies complete with hooks that will have everyone singing along. Then there’s Carmenlydia the entertainer. Anyone who has seen her perform will attest to the fact that she’s an explosive ball of energy. She has participated in important events throughout her journey, including, a 10 days European tour across the military bases through Italy and Spain, sponsored by the Air Force Entertainment (AFE Sept.2006) bringing all her enthusiasm and hope to the soldiers. Carmenlydia has been invited to TV/Radio programs, as well as, in numerous occasions featured in newspapers. “Carmen doesn’t need to force herself to show her vocal abilities” reported Mr. Jose Antonio Evora from El Nuevo Herald on May 12th, 2006 in an interview after her presentation Downtown Miami. The national TV show with the largest exposure for her career was in 2005 when she was chosen as one of the 20 finalists in Telemundo’s “Nuevas Voces De America” created and produced by Emilio Estefan where she had the opportunity to meet and learn from internationally recognized artists, such as: Gloria Estefan, Miguel Bose, Ricardo Montaner, Jon Secada, Ana Gabriel, Olga Tanon, Victor Manuelle, Alejandra Guzman, among others.She’s the consummate performer who loses herself in every show only to find redemption once the song is over and the applause begins. “I feel freer on stage than any where else in my life.
