At the Strike of 12, a new raw and edgy underground rock band compared to the likes of Joy Division and early Cure, mixed with its own take on good music, has emerged from the suburbs of Los Angeles. The band was Ian Ashe's (vocals) own creation. With the sound that he wanted planted clearly in his head, he scoured the country looking for the musicians who could fill his void. Little did Ian know that he would find it back home.
In 2006, living in the Caribbean, still searching for that sound and enjoying the good life, he was bitten by a brown recluse. He was forced to go back home to seek medical attention. On his arrival home, Ian ran into an old childhood acquaintance, Michael Rohloff. He soon discovered that Michael played guitar and the two immediately started writing music. In those first sessions they wrote two songs, "Daisy" and "Robot Cassette". They knew they had something special going.
After a few months, it became clear that it was time to start looking for the rest of the pieces of the puzzle. It took a while, but after fumbling around with a lot of other musicians that never felt quite right, they struck gold. In 2007 Ian and Michael met Zac Harris (bass) who was a 21 year old life-long musician from Montgomery, Alabama. In 2008 they found the final link in the
home-grown drummer named Steve Tapia.
Now, with Ian Ashe's amazing vocals, Michael Rohloff's blazing guitar, Zac Harris's untouchable rhythm, and Steve Tapia's phenomenal drumming, the lineup was complete. Today At the Strike of 12 is playing shows, releasing their highly anticipated first album, and moving forward with intense motivation to bring their style of great music to the masses!HEY FRIENDS, PURCHASE OUR LP!!!!!
