I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Born 1977 Southampton, England, I studied for a BA at Nottingham Trent University and received a first class honours degree in Fine Art. Portsmouth School of Art, the foundation year before my degree course, saw the start of my multi media practice surrounding such issues as the body, the artist and consumption. After graduating in 2000, I returned to Southampton to continue producing artworks for exhibitions and commissions. I have completed workshops, drawing classes and sculptural commissions for businesses and educational establishments. My art practice has strongly developed over the last 18 months with solo and group shows both locally and nationally. This has included exhibitions to show new work viewed in gallery environments and the inspirational backdrop of the recent Artvaults installation as well as the Bargate Monument Gallery solo show. My work has featured on national television and in national and local press, which has further heightened anticipation for new works and forthcoming shows. My practice involves digital photography, sculpture, casting, and drawing. The 3D works are a play on traditional sculptural concerns, the process of adding or taking away. However, this is not achieved using stone or wood but chocolate or soap, degradable or even edible materials which underline the transient state of the body. The final works attempt to show the seductive yet repellent nature of human anatomy. ..[if !IE] ..[endif]
