hmmm... many years ago an ex-bandmate once said that "the only thing i am ever predictable about is being completely unpredictable." i thought it was an insult at the time, but i now embrace the thought. here is what i believe he meant:
some people tend to fit in a neatly labeled box to sum up their entire being in 10 words or less. (these people are also known as brainless sheep.) most people can fit most of themselves in one box, but find that some of the boxes on the same shelf fit a little better from time to time. (it's these few extra boxes that allows the majority of people to feel unique and superior to the brainless sheep mentioned above... are they still there?) in rare instances, a handful of people will leave their shelf entirely for a quick dip in a box on the other side of the store. i think that the reason my ex-bandmate said what he did about me is that i not only like to claim one or two words from as many of the boxes in the store as i deem worthy of wearing, i also check out the tape and bubble wrap shelves, take a quick peek in the back office, then duck out of the store to find what else is available beyond those four walls.
