Black in the life

I am here for Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a quiet revolutionary committed to a sociopolitical agenda of equality and visibility for all and especially LGBT and Queer people of color. I am African American, Black, proud and Queer. I live in the eye of oppression, not because I choose to but because it is an inevitable reality, an all too real life experience that must be negotiated on a daily basis; from the hidden biases in education, lending practices, health care, corporate leadership, to the stifling poverty that characterizes African American life both past and present. The clash of Queerness and Blackness further exposes us to a baseless hostility that must be addressed, not only in the obvious but in the not so obvious, in ourselves. Living a Queer life is a revolutionary act.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Other activists, artists, poets, intellectuals of the queer persuasion. I'm interested in creating a forum for expression, for increasing visibility, for LGBT and queer people of color in particular those of the African Diaspora. I invite all people who share a vision of inclusivity, equality and freedom for all peoples. I seek those who are not afraid of living their life out loud. I seek revolutionaries who are willing to be in the public eye. I'd like to meet others who feel compelled to walk a road less traveled, to carve a path for those who shall follow. I am looking to connect with others who believe in their dreams. Dreams are desires unfulfilled. If you can dream it, if you can see it, if you can write, you can do it. This I know to be true. So in keeping with my vision, my truth, my journey, my dream, I've embarked on another journey to create global communty with my sistas and brothas, to support their work, their efforts, and their journey; to give voice to their dreams. The clash between Queerness and blackness is ripe with opportunity for growth. So, I offer up my voice, my work, my labor of love to help build a global village of same sex loving women and men of the African Diaspora. I invite you to check out Blackinthelife.com and let me know how I might help you to fulfill your dreams.
