November (CD, album) is out now on Peace Technologies:
November is the first solo work of Unit 21, released on a hard copy. This is an extension of Thinner released 'September-October', in a more winter and twilight version. This is the album about seclusion and remembrance. The nature of all tracks is thoughtful and contemplative. Noise of planes flying over the winter forest, trudging on the snow, rattling of trains passing stations, rustling of pages of the musicians' books.

biography:
Unit 21 (Stanislav Vdovin) is an electronic artist, who got his start in 2003. He was born and grew up in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, where he studied piano at music and art schools. At the age of 13 he fell in love with dance electronic music, translated by local weekly radio shows.
Since that time he tried himself in composition using digital synthesizer only (Ensoniq TS-10). Three years later, in 2001, he got acquainted with music software, and got the name Unit 21 in 2003. His early works, released both digitally and on vinyl, are found mostly techno and house production. Although the releases on free net-labels, like Monotonik, Sutemos, and Thinner, reveal the tendency to ambient, quite melodic, electronica.
Autumn of 2005 is marked by close partnership with the collective Sleepy Town Manufacture, and beginning of live performances in Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, and Moscow. In a period of two years Unit 21 took part in events with such artists as Selffish, 0id, Lazyfish, Planet Boelex, Secede and Kettel.
According to creative development increasingly more attention had been devoted to sound-design. Here's Stanislav says about technical side of his creative process: 'Now I work practically only with samples: digitize old vinyl, record noises on microphone, sometimes take some passages on bass-guitar and TS-10; then I cut, stretch and mix recorded fragments. The principle of sound concentration is close to may way of thinking'.
From the beginning of 2006 Unit 21 takes part in publishing and promo activity of Rat hole community, spreading music locally and worldwide, and organizing events with experimental electronic music in the hometown.
