About Me

See some of my life's work at: www.serenaperrone.30art.com and on Cade Tompkins Editions: www.cadetompkins.com My work is also included in the Permanent Collection at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC, and the RISD Museum's permanent collection.I'm a pretty open and eclectic person, I've traveled most of Europe and the US and am pretty independent. I'm very close with my family so I'm lucky in that respsect. Despise bullshit or useless protocol. Small and Italian-American! I speak Italian and French, understand a good amount of Spanish, and am picking up Tawianese here and there (I know how to say "I'm Hungry" which is very important to know). Sweet and loving person with a good sense of humor even though I can't tell jokes, but others seem to enjoy that. Meeting new people is always good, and I am always looking forward to new experiences. Pretty laid back most of the time and like to socialize, although I can also be a loner - I like my alone time too. As a creative person, I need that time to regenerate. I go places by myself and I like to observe life. I get down when the world seems like it isn't ever going to head in the right direction. I get overwhelmed sometimes. I am full of contradictions. I love to laugh, love blood moons, tornadic weather, and eating saltine crackers in the snow. They're better that way.

I am a painter and a printmaker working primarily in oils, intaglio, and woodcut. Originally from St. Louis, I moved to Rhode Island for Grad School where I just finished my MFA in Printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design. I am working on becoming involved with the Philly scene now that I'm more settled after my move, and am hoping to meet more local artists, artisans, writers, and musicians, as well as folks I lost track of over the years.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Well I just finished my MFA at Rhode Island School of Design. After living there for 2 years I relocated to Chinatown in Philly. So far so good. I really love it here.I'd like to meet anyone, as long as you are kind and intelligent and have a good sense of humor. Sincerity and tenderness combined with sarcasm and wit is a winning combination in my eyes. I don't like people who are pretentious or take themselves or anything too seriously. Please have some humility. If you can quote the Princess Bride, and then talk about Oliver Sacks, have read every Haruki Murakami book ever written, make pilgrimmages to see the work of Jacopo Pontormo, and can name that jazz tune that's playing on KKJZ, I'll be your friend forever. Be honest and yourself and we'll probably get along.

oh and mr. winkle.
