About Me

I just received an award from BMI for the theme I composed for the VH1 hit series "Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant"--the black tie ceremony was on the 21st of May, (hmm, another tux gig oh well I didn't mind this one so in fact I was shakin in my shoes walking up on stage in front of all the best TV & film composers to receive the award)I started a new indy film company MAR-VAL-LES films. Also, I just finished producing and scoring my second horror feature-- a vampire love story called "The Kiss". I'm really excited about this movie and the music I gave it a real Spanish feel ( I guess all those Charo records I worked on finally paid of). The movie was accepted in the Lake Arrowhead film festival, and we were a big hit in over 10 years that the festival has been around we were told we sold more tickets then ever in the history of the festival. It was standing room only I even snuck thirty people past the fire Marshall to sit in the aisles.) Check out the movie trailer at www.thekissmovie.net. And before I forget - I need to thank my buddy Johnny Venokur again, (he hooked me up to Compose for Scott Baio the first go-around which lead to the award which I already spoke about...). This effort on weekly television rolled over to another opportunity that I'm really excited about - Todd Bridges (remember him?) is coming back to TV and guess who the music supervisor and composer is on this show (thats right baby ME)all that hard work is finally paying off. I'm also finishing up the creation of a comedy cooking show called "Eat Me." Starring my wife Valerie. And around all of this, The Fifth Dimension and I did a series of symphony gigs all last year. Can you say frequent flyer miles? And back to movies.
My first movie, "Mother's Day", a collaboration with Chris Peters is doing well. (check out myspace.com/mothersdaymovie). And other projects keep rollin', Jesse Cowan's the Gospel singer I've been working with well we just finished his video on a great track we wrote together.(This guy is a great Friend and an inspiration to work with) also watch out for the new Rodeo realty commercial this is another production I just finished. I was also asked to take my solo project to China for the Olympics Im really excited about this .I need to get the guys back in rehearsal ,and you guys know who you are.
But I'm getting ahead of myself - for those of you who don't know me, it worked like this: I was born and raised in Las Vegas. Im a second generation musician. I began playing professionally in my early teens most of the gigs at that time were local rock clubs and it really wasn't until my last year of high school that I got a big break playing keyboards for the 5th Dimension. After graduation, I received a scholarship to attend Dick Grove School of Music, where I studied orchestral arrangement & composing - it is also where I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Nelson Riddle. After graduation I played and produced artists Poison, Jason Mraz, Dixie Chicks, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Charo, Clint Holmes, Belinda Carlisle, Nell Carter, Courtney Love, Meridith Brooks, The Temptations, Dave Koz, Greg Walker, Ernie Watts, Frank Morocco, and the Tokyo Yankees( I hope I didn't leave anyone out). Currently, I'm the musical director for The 5th Dimension. I own a beautiful recording facility with state of the art tools. My main goal on the projects I get involved in, is to be a positive & creative force. Yuh wanna play?
