What can we say...we are so very blessed! For those of you who don't know, Evan Randall Rhoads was born on February 3 in a quiet midwife facility in Dallas, Tx. He weighed 6lbs.7oz. and 20in. My labor was pretty difficult, so we were unable to have a water birth as planned. However, Elliott did get to "catch" baby Evan and place him directly into my arms. Elliott's hands were the first to ever touch our son, which would never have been possible had we delivered at a hospital...it was truly a magical experience. Evan had to spend a week in ICU because of a very rare and severe case of jaundice which required a blood transfusion, but he is absolutely perfect and healthy now. Elliott and I are madly in love with the little guy! All of the cliches are true...having a child has definately changed our lives in every imaginable way. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been there throughout this journey. We couldn't have made it without you.
