Well...after a near-fatal flight to Pakse, Laos (the poxiest place on earth), I hitched into town in 38degree heat looking pretty manky - I was used to getting called "Sweety", "Honey Honey", and "falang", but these kids decided to call me Backpasher....I kinda like it!I'm a Speech Pathologist but really want to be a linguist/travel writer....I've been to 60 countries - and was recently devastated to learn that my 10yr old cousin, Jessica has been to 60-70 countries! So I need to get my arse into gear!! Looks like South America next, though the Stans are also on the cards for me. My fave food is avocado, though I'm also addicted to cheese, I can write upside-down (occupational hazard), I actually quite like brussel sprouts (with sweet chili sauce), I have perfect pitch, I like drinking white tea and playing the piano whenever I can find a spare one floating about. I am obsessed with shoes - I have elfin ones, cat and dog ones, foldable ones, wooden ones and purple snakeskin boots - don't ask!!, I am apt at bastardizing languages the world over - particularly French, Spanish, German and Finnish, I have a chinchilla called Caesar ("hairy one"), I'm somewhat ambidextrous, I've lost my backpack twice, I've slept in a few airports, I've nearly driven a motorbike off a bridge in Laos, I'm permanently sleep-deprived...
