Klepto was born in Scarborough, Ontario, was raised in Markham, and is of Trinidadian and Syrian descent. In His mid teens He moved all over Toronto to avoid living in an undesired location. This was beneficial as this exposure help to display all of the various styles and ethics of the people in Toronto to him. So at a young age, he saw where some Toronto Rappers Stood Lyrically. Klepto, now 24, began taking writing seriously in the year 2000 and developed his own style, careful not to mimic any of the style's of the artists that he observed coming up, he realised that putting pictures in the listeners head was the most effective way of MCing. A true lyricist in an era where many T.O artists established or not, aren't very lyrical, he credits his earlier influences such as : 2Pac, Nas, Rakim, Big Pun and Canibus.
In 2007 He released his fist mixtape "Epitome of Toronto Rap Vol.1", which was mixed by Project Bounce's own DJ Law. Klep has had several songs feature on the late night radio show and his mixtape has been received as The most Intricatley Lyrical Mixtape from a Unsigned Toronto artist in 2007.
In early 2008 he was featured on the internet radio station Crackhouse radio where he was interviewed by Jon "Bizz" Brown about what Toronto Rap is to him and his feelings on the state of the game. Later on in September of 2008 he appeared on a Crackhouse radio, Ambush TV, Hip Hop Canada venture called "25 to cypher" featuring 5 other talented up and coming MC's reppin' Toronto. He has worked with Toronto's most talented and undiscovered Vocalists and will only work with those who he feels is on a consistent, similar lyrical level. He also believes that many toronto artists plagerize that "Dirty South Sound" and other artists from the states. Keeping Toronto's Rap Scene at a standstill as we have yet to harness our own sound as a nation and biting off the states sound is like working backwards.
