About Me

NEW CD RELEASE, MAY 31 HUGH'S ROOM, TORONTO

My new CD, "PIRATE DAYS", has just been mastered in Nashville by Hank Williams at Master Mix. Recorded here in Toronto over the past year at Fire Escape Recording, producer Douglas Romanow took the final mix down to Nashville last week, already mixed to perfection, and delivered it to me yesterday. It sounds amazing. Musicians on the album include Gary Craig / drums, John Dymond / bass, Rick Fines and Tim Bovaconti / guitars, Steve Briggs / guitar and mandolin, Don Reid / fiddle, Rosemary Phelan / vocals, myself on vocals, guitar, and mandola, Doug Romanow / accordian, piano, marxphone, and studio toy tinkering ambience. I was also blessed with a wonderful live choir, including gorgeous children's voices on "Train of Love", co-written with Tom Leighton.

The CD design, by Patrick Duffy, is going to be a work of art. Master artist Paul Young has allowed me to use one of his exquisite and classic reclining nudes to incorporate into the cd cover image.

Of course, everything is down to the wire as usual, no matter how hard we try to have everything done earlier than not. It's a dynamic shift from the intense creative experience of the studio to this next stage of bringing it to the world. As soon as it is ready, in the next couple of weeks, "PIRATE DAYS" will be up on CD Baby alongside "IN THIS TOWN". Or you can e-mail me at [email protected] to order.

I am very excited about my new collections of songs. Doug Romanow did some serious magic here, with his superb production skills and sensitive attunement.

Thankyou for tuning in

Marianne
