The Velazquez Family Singers

The Velazquez Family Singers or Family Singers - Born in 1995, 1997, and 1999 respectively, Victoria, Alexia, & Emmanuel Velazquez were singing before they could talk. With a mother who is a recording artist and winner of national music competitions; and father, Victor, a member of Opera Ebony-the oldest surviving black opera company in America, singing came as naturally to Velazquez Children as walking did other kids. Now, at the ages of 12, 10, & 8, the children, along with their dad, are making guest appearances and performing full concerts in the greater New York/New Jersey/Conneticut tri-state area and around the world.In the 2006 and 2007 McDonald’s Gospelfest Competition, The Velazquez Family Singers won First Place in the Group category. With winning, The Family Singers were featured on the UPN-My 9 television broadcast of the Gospelfest. On those programs, The Family Singers had the opportunity to appeared with top gospel recording artist as Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winans, Tye Tribbett, Hezekiah Walker, J Moss, Bryon Cage, and Sissy Houston.In 2007, the Family Singers toured Germany with the Professional Children’s Choir and plan to tour France and Switzerland later this year. In addition, the Velazquez Kids joint forces with the Celestrial Childern's Choir to record a CD scheduled for an European release this Thanksgiving.At the 2nd Annual Black Girls Rock Awards, which honored Motown President Sylvia Rhone, Essence Magazine Editor Susan L.
