Vegard Henanger

Although my roots are firmly set in blues, country and 70's rock, the road takes on surprising turns sometimes. Having been a mostly self-taught picker for app. 20 years, I have played everything from traditional Norwegian folk music, via dance music, country and blues to funk, rock n' roll and metal.. Nowadays, I'm involved with a couple of bands and I do some studio work plus freelance live work whenever I can. I am also a member of singer/songwriter Robert Smith-Hald's backing band alongside some of the finest musicians I have ever played with. A huge honour and a great challenge! My no.1 guitar is without a doubt the Fender Telecaster, but I am also quite fond of Gretsch hollowbodies. Mandolins and lap steels are also instruments close to my heart. For amplification it's Fender and Marshall that does it for me.
