Lanham Beats

Lanham Beats was founded in Lanham, Maryland by ExoDu$ and H.R.J. in 1998. It was made to just be the beat making machine for artist ExoDu$ and S.O.B. and other artists from "around the way". ExoDu$., H.R.J., and fellow Lanham native Darren(R.I.P.) worked day after day to perfect the art of producing. A few months after getting into the groove of producing, SOB returned from Washington state. SOB jumped right in and began rapping and producing. Everyone would soon bring along a whole crew of their own into the fold. One day, SOB brought one of his tightest niggas around for a beat making and regular daily freestyle session. The guy freestyled for over an hour with some crucial flows. Even though his name was Komatose, ExoDu$ thought this dude could be the franchise player of the squad. Ever since that day he has not been able to shake the alias, Franchise. Even though that name carries a lot of weight, he lives up to it everytime he spits lyrics on a microphone or burns up a freestyle cypher. Hazardous Materials A.K.A.Hazmatt, a native of Bowie at the time, overheard a conversation between SOB & ExoDu$ about some beats. On a memorable Thanksgiving afternoon ExoDu$ and Hazmatt trding freestyle verses back and forth. The rest is history. Hazmatt has become one of the most versitile and talented hip hop artist in the underground scene. The soulful Gee-Funk has been the go to man on choruses and "Quality Control". Gee funk is also an acclaimed gospel singer in the Prince Georges County Area. His cousin and partner in crime, That Dude Dave, better known as A.K., has brought the west coast element to an already diverse Lanham Beats table. Last but not least, Raz Draztic, the other half of the legendary Lanham/ Camelot duo Backwood with C.M.B. Raz is a deep metaphorical veteran. He’s definitely one of the best to ever put a pen to a pad. A few months ago, a mutual friend of ours introduced me to a beat maker/ producer Mr. Goldentips. Mr. Goldentips has a knack for making supertight beats. He will be showing off his work soon and now is the go to producer at Lanham Beats.
