Generation:landslide!

The Best Band That You Will Have Ever Heard...

About Me

Generation:landslide! is a power pop outfit from the wild streets of Houston, TX. Combining intelligent, edgy lyrics with catchy pop melodies. Tom Underwood (guitar and vocals) was born in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 26, 1955 (and is also the creative force behind the band....sometimes he's beside the band...or even in front!). Tom counts Big Star, R.E.M., The Beatles and various punk/garage bands among his many musical influences. He's spent time in such illustrious bands such as Pop Skull and The Stick Wigglies. Formerly joining Tom on guitar was Wil Hudgens (born in Lebanon on July 15th, 1978). In 1998 Wil relocated to Southwest Houston. He finds inspiration from such artists as Mel Collins, John Coltrane, John Cale, Neil Young and Crazyhorse, and The Beat among others....In recent years he played alongside Michael Bruce (formerly writer, guitarist, and keyboardist for the original Alice Cooper Group) and toured for a brief time. He now enjoys spending summers in San Tropez when he's not basking in the warmth of the stage light with Generation:landslide! Formerly on the drums was (drum roll, please...) Charles Zittle, a native Houstonian (born on February 23, 1968). He is the perfect picture of a ferocious drummer, bringing a hard driving rhythm to counter and compliment the band's melodic sound. Charles recalls the influence of bands such as The Stooges, AC/DC, and The Beatles. He's an outspoken musical critic with a producer's ear passing on the gift of music to all in his path. Handling the bass duties, as well as vocals, we have the very capable Kathie Muncy. Kathie was born in Austin,TX on October 24th, 1960. She spent her childhood in the beautiful, but now rapidly disappearing, mountain countryside of West Virginia. Her influences range from "X", to The Donnas, to Patti Smith, and so on....A relative newcomer to the Houston music scene, Kathie brings clean, simple bass lines to the plate that are understated yet powerful. Generation:landslide! is somewhat an anomaly among Houston bands. They prefer to play catchy originals that draw from rock's best traditions, still sounding amazingly fresh and in step with contemporary trends without sounding dated. This appraoch has allowed them to carve out a special niche in the Houston music spectrum. Perhaps that's why they stand out.
