Don't covet. Get to know me. I have emotions and opinions. I can go stand on a street corner, on a stage, or in front of the camera if I want someone to look at me. Don't try to win me. I don't like games. I'm not perfect, but I try to fix my flaws when I recognize them. Respect my mind and body. Compliments are welcome, but flattery is annoying. Be up front and honest. Genuinely know yourself, and be proud of who you are. If you can't be proud of who you are, change yourself. It's good to be empathetic. Compassion and consideration are not weaknesses. Competition is good in moderate amounts. Skepticism gets old in any amount. If your neighbors grass is greener, water your yard and mow your lawn. I am content with my struggles. I am weary of what comes easy. I have learned the most from the things that have hurt me the worst, but I am not bitter. Mutualism is not definite in symbiosis.
I live to learn, because understanding is my passion. I am an observer and interpreter of people, tasks, music, academic knowledge, behavior, points of view...nearly any phenomena. I am tolerant. I ask "why?" entirely too often.I think we are responsible for our own everything; so live and learn, then live again without making the same mistakes. You control your life. I hate people who make excuses for, well frankly, anything.I shun debt (and most individuals who have allowed themselves to become victimized by it, particularly at the mercy of over self-indulgence), except for a home mortgage or a reasonable vehicle loan. Credit card debt is the result of poor planning.Everyone has the potential to teach me something new, but I am most preoccupied by those who are consciously aware of this relationship. For this reason, my inner circle is very small (my family and a few close friends) and the vast majority of people I associate with are good acquaintances with whom I have something simple in common.I live to experience, but I try to logically plan my experiences. Feeling in control of my life and surroundings is important to me. I work hard to achieve specific milestones before allowing myself to relax and enjoy their benefits.I speak my mind, but I am capable of exercising good judgment. I won't try to change someone's mind, but I will expand on new ideas and perspectives.I am spunky. I am open minded; I will try [almost] anything once, especially in situations involving food. I am up front and honest: by choice, not nature. I have learned too many lessons the hard way, so I'd rather offer too much information than not enough.I can be a bit overwhelming if you're not used to sarcasm and wittiness, so I usually don't fit in with conservative people who are easily offended. If you can't appreciate the humor in Freddy Got Fingered, Zoolander, Wild Boyz, Jackass, or Office Space, we probably won't see eye-to-eye.I am competitive, but mostly against myself. I am animated. I am GOAL oriented. I am an independent and focused perfectionist. I am an open minded and liberal idealist. I am quirky. I invent my own words and talk about things that most "normal" people don't. I am a humanitarian by heart but selfish by nature. I love animals more than I do most people. I hate feet. Even my own. Well, mine are cute, but I still hate feet.School sometimes overwhelms me. I am working on my Master's degree in Human Behavior; I'm pretty much 2 months on, 2 months off, until February 2010. I study because I want to, not for the sake of any particular profession; I love my job and don't anticipate leaving the GIS industry any time soon, even though my Bachelor's degree is in English.I am a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Practioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Practitioner of TIME Line Techniques, Success Coach, and Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). I opened my own office in Tempe a few months ago. I'm pretty devoted to personal growth and development. :)I don't idolize people with fame or fortune, and I am annoyed by star-struck individuals. Vanity without humility is a waste of potential, and failing to recognize people as people is shallow since "respect" and "idolize" are not synonymous. I don't ask for autographs, and I think professional sports players are entirely too overpaid.I am not really superficial, I just think people should take care of themselves. I can spend days camping without running water or electricity and still be completely comfortable. If I didn't have to wear heels to work every day, I'd wear jeans, tank tops, and hoodies. I don't match my socks when they come out of the dryer, so I'm rarely wearing two of the same kind. My idea of getting ready to go out USUALLY means adding accessories and heels to a simple outfit, but I have been known to do speed-shopping for a night out. I own too many pairs of shoes for my own good, and most of them are in my car since I don't like to drive with them on. I think putting your best leg forward is important, but I usually hang around the house in sweats and a pony tail. I think truly high-maintenance people usually have a lot to learn, or just don't value the same things in life that I do...but that doesn't preclude me from buying designer labels when I feel so compelled. I do own Luis Vuitton, Prada, Coach, Chanel, and Gucci purses, but I like shopping at thrift stores too.My FamilyI pretend to be a "healthy eater," but that usually consists of no breakfast, no lunch, and everything in the refrigerator for dinner (as long as it's vegetarian). Right now, there's nothing in my refrigerator.Laser hair removal is a godsend! Shaving is the devil.I love concerts, especially to support little-known bands. I like Escher and Dali, but my most prized piece of artwork is a classic realist painting by Mohammed, from Iraq (damn scratch on the $600 frame!).I [usually] don't hold grudges, and I usually root for the underdog (unless were talking politics, or unless you've thrown stones at my heart). I think most Americans are (in general) lazy, distracted, and prude.I can enjoy a fun night out just like the next person, but I'm far from being a party chick...I just like to have a good time with good company. I don't tear up dance floors much anymore. For the most part (like 99%), the once exhilarating evenings spent amidst hormone-raging, highly intoxicated, hip-grinding masses have settled into my "have done" memories. Now I spend my time shopping for "things for the house", volunteering, or reading. Yes, I'm a nerd.I like to be around people who challenge me intellectually, inspire me personally, and excite me socially. I value good "all of the above" friends...friends that can enjoy lazy nights in AND fun nights out, and enjoy the company of people (not just the places they go and things they do). I miss the days when those relationships were unavoidably abundant, because growing up seems to have deterred me from maintaining them. Romantic partners should always be teaching each other something new or helping each other improve as individuals.I love snowboarding, even though there's not much snow in Phoenix! I love dive bars and little places with "personality." I like spending hours at coffee shops, reading or talking about philosophy and society...or eating at Denny's at 3 in the morning (P.S. I hate Denny's). I like guns; I am always looking for someone to come shooting with me. I love UFC; I almost never miss a PPV fight, even if I have to watch it myself. I am an active APEX member; if you don't know what that means, you probably don't need or want to.For a more accurate account of what my days are like, check out my calendar below to see what I've got coming up.Let's go...

To sleep! (September 2003 - January 2003: OIF I) PFC...LCpl...Cpl...Sgt...SSgt IzzoI spent 6 years on active duty in the Marine Corps, from September 2000 to September 2005, and from September 2006 to October 2007, which definitely created most of the best and worst memories of my entire life. I am now in the SMCR as an IMA Marine for MARFOREUR in Germany. I will probably keep re-enlisting in the reserves forever, or at least until my retirement is accepted.I'd like to own my own bed-and-breakfast or run my own summer camp (in honor of oh-so-many years @ AAJHSC in Prescott, and NLC in Estes Park) some day, but neither has been officially added to the list of "things to do." I used to obsess about planning such things, but I've decided that at 26, I've got plenty of time to see where the road leads and plan from there. Over the next year, my focus is being directed towards finishing my Master's degree, fitness, and developing my Hypnotherapy and NLP practice.
