Shreveport Louisiana native, Donnie “Babyboy†Wilson was naturally drawn to a more soulful sound.Growing up his musical influences range from Stevie Wonder to Sam Cook, performers with distinct soundsand down home flavor. Babyboy always knew he would have a spot in the music industry. Babyboy, member of The Shreveport, LA, vocal quartet Profyle consists of a pair ofbrothers and cousins who grew up together, inspired by the success and positive messageof groups like Boyz II Men. They began performing at local talent shows and caught theattention of a promoter during one performance, who introduced them to their future manager, Musa Moore. Moore hadthe group record their demo tape with singer/songwriter Sandra St Victor and producer V. Jeffrey Smith of the soulful band the Family Stand; this tape made its way toKedar Massenburg, president of Motown Records, who offered Profyle a record contract. The group'sdebut album, Whispers in the Dark , followed in 1999 and Nothin but Drama in 2000.Eventually the group decided they needed to venture and do their own individual thing. Babyboyfeverishly shopped himself as a solo artist. A 2004 relocation to Atlanta provided him theopportunity to work on his demo and work with other artist. Babyboy found himself auditioningfor different acting roles and featuring on other artist albums. Profyle got back together and didtheir third album titled Profyle.Babyboy has connected with several artist including Q from 112 and Johnta Austin forassistance on his solo album..
