folks of all backgrounds and walks of life. and pugs. lots and lots of pugs.
Lots. Jam bands, jazz, bluegrass, hip-hop, folk, reggae, afrofunk, etc.
I don't watch them much except ..aries- although I did see one in December in the Haight @ the Red Vic, it was a collection of silent porn films from the 20's & 30's called "The Good Old Naughty Days"- Absolutely Fabulous!
Not much time for that anymore. I try to catch the new Simpsons/Family Guy/American Dad on Sundays though.
Lots. A few faves off the top of my head: the incredibly liberating "Cunt" by Inga Muscio, Ecotopia by Ernest Callenbach, anything by Sandra Cisneros, Maxine Hong Kingston or Octavia Butler, Gore Vidal, Emma Goldman, Toni Morrison, various feminist theorists (Chandra Mohanty, bell hooks, Alice Walker, Gloria Anzaldua, Audre Lorde, Cynthia Enloe, so on and so forth), also Carol J. Adams-Sexual Politics of Meat. Right now i'm trying to read War & Peace in my spare time, and it's taking fucken forever. You know, everyone says Tolstoy is such a genius...well maybe he is, but goddamn, why do there have to be so many boring-ass battle scenes? oh right, war and peace...
Militant vegetarians, unashamed feminists and/or womanists past and present, those who practice civil disobedience, and last but certainly not least, the incredible women in my family, particularly my Granny, my strong-ass mom, and my fucken awesome sisters, ALL of them: Tara, Ashley, Samantha, Amber, Tonya. Te amo.
