Here's a quick rundown of the tracks here::
"Feelin' Lowdown" is one of those funky ones. Sometimes I pull out a crate of 45s and play them until the sun comes up. Sometimes I gotta get out and have a good time...
"Sweet Baby Jazz" was written after one of those nights. It's dedicated to all those who rock the Hammond B3 with those spinnin' Leslies...
"Woken Up (By Pure Joy)" is about being awoken by an artistic force that you just can't sleep through... or something else entirely...
"Monkey On My Back" is a song about addiction. George (Clinton) said: Funk not only moves, it can re-move. I'd like to think that's true.
"Everyone Everywhere" features the beautiful, extremely talented and singularly named Vainessa on vocals. This one, is my contribution to urban protest songs. Listen as a backline of grimey funkateers try to outdo her. Guess who wins?
Enjoy!
