Andreas Bjørkås

Andreas Bjørkås!I started playing the violin at 7 years old. Went to music high school at Vinstra, and studied folk-music with great teachers like Tom Willy Rustad, Per Sæmund Bjørkum and Vegard Vårdal. I am now studying classical music at the Norwegian Academy of Music, under world known teacher Terje Moe Hansen. I play as a solo artist and in the band Nordfjells. Nordafjells have played at many big folk-music festivals in Norway, and have acchieved several good results in norwegian music-competitions. As a solo-artist I have won my class at the big national competition Landskappleiken many times, and in 2005 I took silver-medal at this competition. Beside playing traditional music, I also compose in both tradional and experementing style.
