No one...I mean no one... gets acoustic and percussion tracks sounding so rich and alive like you do. It was a huge honor to work and hang with you brother. I wish you all the best!

Over the past 30 years, Miles Wilkinson has taken a unique journey as a musician, recording engineer and record producer from his home in Toronto to Los Angeles to Minneapolis and now his current surroundings in Nashville, TN.
Miles started his career as a lead guitarist for Canadian recording artist Anne Murray, which led to a long and fruitful relationship as a recording engineer for producer Brian Ahern. Miles engineered and mixed Anne Murray's first 10 Capitol albums resulting in a gold album for "Snowbird" and a platinum album for her "Greatest Hits" album. When Brian Ahern decided to move to Los Angeles in the early 70's, he brought Miles along. During this time, Brian acquired one of the first state-of-the-art mobile recording trucks in the U.S. called the Enactron Truck. Miles helped design this recording facility which included an actual recording room within the truck.
At this time, Brian started to produce ground breaking records with Emmylou Harris for Warner/Reprise. Miles was instrumental in engineering and mixing Emmylou's first 4 Warner/Reprise albums, a gold album for 1975's "Elite Hotel", and two Ampex Golden Reel Awards for engineering excellence for Emmylou's "Luxury Liner" LP and "Profile/Best of Emmylou Harris" album.
Before leaving Los Angeles, Miles engineered the remote recording for the Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristofferson movie "A Star is Born" with Phil Ramone which earned an Academy Award nomination for sound. He also engineered the remote recording for the Bette Midler film "The Rose". Miles decided to make the move to Nashville to get involved, in not just engineering, but producing on a grander scale. The past 6 years has found Miles not only designing, managing and staff engineering EMI Publishing's recording studio, but engineering various portions of Willie Nelson's "Stardust" album, re-mixing Waylon Jennings' last RCA LP, as well as engineering various tracks for Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Suzy Boggus, Roseanne Cash and Rodney Crowell. During his tenure at EMI studios, Miles has produced and/or engineered demos for Billy Dean, Duane Eddy, Verlon Thompson and Suzi Ragsdale to name a few.
As a record producer, Miles has co-produced and engineered Hugh Moffatt's 1989 "Troubadour" album for Rounder/Philo Records and produced Mark Koenig's The Lonesome Kind" album for MCA/Canada in 1991. Miles' long-standing relationship with singer/songwriter Guy Clark has truly brought him into the forefront of contemporary country music. Miles co-produced and engineered Guy's "Old Friends" album for Sugar Hill. which was nominated for a Grammy in the Contemporary Folk category in 1989. Because of "Old Friends", Elektra/Asylum Records signed Guy to a multi-album deal that resulted in the critically acclaimed records "Boats To Build" and "Dublin Blues", which were co-produced and engineered by Miles. Miles' work can be found on Marcia Ball's Rounder release, "Blue House", Cindy Church's "Just A Little Rain" LP, Verlon Thompson & Suzi Ragsdale's LP and Peter McCann's RCA Christmas album. Other productions include the 1997 Juno Award Winning Long John Baldry's "Right To Sing The Blues" LP (Stony Plain), "Cindy Church's" LP (Stony Plain), Guy Clark's live album "Keepers" (1997 Grammy nominated LP in the Contemporary Folk category - Sugar Hill), Buddy Mondlock (EMI) and Susan Werner (Bottom Line/BMG). Miles has engineered Great Big Sea's album "Turn" with producer Steve Berlin (Sire/London Records; Tim O'Brien & Darrell Scott's LP "Real Time"; Co-Produced Darrell Scott's third LP; Produced "Way Live" for The Waybacks and Produced Canadian rock singer-songwriter Bobby Cameron. Most recently Miles has produced Karla Anderson's new CD from Edmonton and Doug & Telisha Williams new CD from Virginia.
Miles' diversity as a producer is not just purely in the country bag. His work with pop, rock, jazz, rockabilly and folk have all culminated in giving him the ability to know what complements a song in bringing the best out on record. His unique sonic ability, musical background and technical know-how help bring the music and the artist to the forefront.
"Three years ago I took a look at the trends in my business and saw a nitch I might just be able to fill so I put together a portable but powerful recording studio that is installed in road cases that can be packed up into my little green van. Then I started traveling around North America to record acoustic music in people’s homes, garages, barns etc. I've taken my T.A.W.S. (Transportable Audio Work Station) all the way from Nashville to Montreal, Alaska, Montreal, Montana, Texas, British Columbia, Alberta and more. When not on the road T.A.W.S. is set up at my home studio in Nashville where I continue to make lots of recordings. I've also entered the exciting world of CD Mastering with T.A.W.S. and have been having great fun in that area. too."
