About Me

I am 48 years old, and I graduated last year at the age of 47 (finally!). I am done with my Master's degree! YAY!!! It's an M.S. Counseling, MFT, emphasis in Gerontology. I finished my deafness, and school certifications this spring, and just have two classes to go in spring 09 for my rehab certification. I have more counseling specializations than any person to graduate out of my program. I can't help it. We Swedes love the smorgasbord!I have worked with numerous populations, including hospice, adolescents from a poor neighborhood in SF for the last two years, elders, deafened and hard of hearing folks. I am fortunate to have participated in a research project with a Stanford child psychiatrist in which I treated kids who had PTSD.I am interested in shamanism, soul retrieval, drum circles, women's circles, and am working on a book on creating sacred space. I have been able to study with some great shamanic teachers, including Michael Harner, Sandra Ingerman, Wilbert Alix, and Sarangeral. I do have a website for my work, just ask for the link.I am single and have three great kids. Sven is 23 and lives in Texas. Kari (21) and Thor (16) live with me. They visit their dad often.I speak a smattering of several languages. Those include Spanish, Russian, and ASL. I have also studied Italian, Latin and Swedish, but am not as well versed in those.I won the top award in our department and was one of 80 grad students (out of 7000) to win "The Distinguished Achievement Award" - the top award for a grad student. I am currently working at a great job with a non-profit working with elders. I love what I do - life is good!  I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Kari drugged my MySpace!

This is a really beautiful piece of art that I would like to own by Cynthia Re Robbins. However it kind of looks like my space is on drugs, specifically LSD, when it's a tile background. But Kari...

I wish African guys would use real pictures and stories when they write!

I am just sick of these multiple emails I get every week from PICTURES of incredibly handsome white guys, who clearly don't speak English. When you actually write to them, they inevitably live in Afri...

The lost art of spelling and punctuation

I have noticed that spelling, grammar and punctuation are simply dismal on MySpace. What's going on? Does our education system suck that badly? I personally cannot get interested in anything a person ...
