Funkservice International's music has been labeled "jazzy," "sophisticated," "electro," "'60s retro," and "groovy," among other things, and has been compared to such artists as Massive Attack, Gotan Project, and Koop.
The group's characteristic yet uncategorizable sound stems directly from the curiosity of its creators, Skellefteå-based producer team Adil Fadi and Jonas Persson. In 2001 the Moroccan/Swedish duo combined their previous experiences to create an exciting hybrid of different musical styles, and the result of their eclectic, open-minded approach--including the utilization of many different musicians on stage--was the distinctive flavor of Funkservice International.
Since those early days, Funkservice has released two albums, "A Post Modern Life" (2004) and "Life and Flowers" (2005), and the group has played such diverse venues as Dubai, Italy, Malaysia, Denmark, Norway, and Canada.
Currently Funkservice International is exploring new approaches and methods to recording, and we look forward to seeing how the group's journey progresses, on both the musical and physical levels.
