The Elastic Arts Foundation (EAF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing performance opportunities for independent artists of all disciplines and media. As artists providing coordination, outreach, and creative leadership within the performing arts communities of Chicago, the founders of EAF facilitate collaboration among artists of diverse aesthetic, social, and cultural backgrounds, while presenting free performances to varied audiences. EAF fosters interest and support for new and under-exposed artists and art forms, providing the public with unique aesthetic and cultural events in an alternative performance environment.EAF has provided production support and artistic leadership for over 600 live music shows, multi-disciplinary performances, theater pieces, art exhibitions, and film screenings. The directors of EAF have created performance opportunities for scores of artists by providing them with access to a unique venue and multi-faceted production facilities.For the past six years, EAF has been committed to providing artists with the resources needed to present their work to the public. Initially united to provide performance and recording opportunities for themselves, the founders of EAF soon developed close working relationships within Chicago’s diverse literary, musical, and performance communities. In order to provide themselves and their colleagues with a reliable and innovative performing environment, the founders of EAF have initiated several regular performance series. These series thrive on the participation of an ever-expanding network of people, thus promoting the continual presentation of new work. EAF has synthesized the talents of numerous artists, combining diverse styles of expression and audiences, thereby facilitating the development of these individuals and broadening the exposure of varying art forms to audiences.
