The first thing you need to know is we don't play music that makes us "br00t4L". We play what we want, and we play what we like. We don't give a shit about what people want to hear. WE PLAY WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR. end of story.
The Anatrah consists of four members, with all of the members 18 or younger. Along their journey they have come across many obsticles, but nothing can stop the determination of these musicians.
In 1999, Justin Daniel and Casey Modert met by being in the same cub scout pack, unaware that less than three years later they would team up to start the early stages of what is now the anatrah. In early 2004, while Casey was in and out of the band, he was finally asked to be the permanant drummer, and there was created "Her Most Beautiful Tears". With frontman Yael Orellana and bassist T.J. Joubert, the band wasn't really to the fullest potential. They replaced the T.J. with their new bassist Jeremy Latham, and the band was up and going. But by the fall of 2004, they relized that they needed a new line-up. They let their lead vocalist go, and Jeremy stepped up to the vocals. But within a month, they decided that they were gonna drop all of their songs and start over, with a new line-up and new name.
The trio took a different approach on their writing style, and wrote jazzy guitar parts, but at the same time kept them hardcore. With Jeremy on bass and doing vocals, they relized that they needed a a full time bass player. By the beginning of 2005, they recruited Drew Gadbois in as their bass player, letting Jeremy switch to vocals. The band grew stonger as they played, and in April they played their first show 2 hours south in Georgetown, IL. They were an instant success. One week after that they played their first show locally, and everyone liked what they had heard. No one was expecting what had just happened. From that show on The Anatrah has played many great shows in the Chicago area, including the Congress Theatre and Logan Square Auditorium. They have played with many great bands including Dance Club Massacre, Destroyvale(rip), Quiet Drive, Ours is but to do or die(rip), Southern County Kill(ex. ADTS), and many more.
They have progressed in writing more diverse music as well as becoming more diverse musicians. In October 2006, they took a break from playing shows so they could focus on writing new material. They all felt that the band needed to take things more seriously. While they are still writing and producing a whole new sound, they are focused and determined to play the best music they can. They are all very focused and dedicated to the band. In March of 2007, The Anatrah decided to part ways with their front man Jeremy Latham. This gave them yet another set back and put them to the test as far as determination goes. They didn't give up, and soon started a search for a new vocalist.
They stumbled across Gage Sandlin, who was a perfect fit and added a totally new style to the boys' music. After their first show everyone agreed that the new vocals had made them that much better. They went into Comatose studio in the beginning of August '07 to record the "Moses" EP. Several months down the road, they were forced to seperate from the new vocalist because of disagreements. The search continued.
They finally found a dude named Rob, who completley filled the spot. Now the voyage continues as they work with their new vocalist to get everything working right. So far they are very happy with the new sound of the music and pleased with the new guy. They're now ready to beat your fucking face in, so come to a show and see what we're all about.
