My perpetual need to make movies began in high school when I directed two classmates in acting out my essay. Though I had written it, I felt it needed to be dramatized in order to clarify my points. Unfortunately, it was an oral essay, and the teacher would not accept my presentation. Undaunted, I stepped out one evening to attend a screening of the film, The Unbearable Lightness of Being. This film changed my artistic vision and since then, my directorial influences are those films done in some sort of unconventional style, i.e. Psycho's extreme close ups and eye motifs; Glengarry Glen Ross, and Dogville which were filmed on small, simple sets, the surreal, methodical pacing of Pawnbroker, and the subjective camera work in Buffalo 66.
