Lil Jim

Lil' Jim is starting to get a name for himself as one of the hottest British Zydeco Accordion players around. At the age of only 19, he has already performed at festivals in Holland, France and Germany. Only a few months ago he was awarded "Best Zydeco Accordion Player In Europe" of 2006 at the European Cajun and Zydeco Awards. In 2002, Lil' Jim was featured in Cajun Life & Times Magazine. He made his first recording with R. Cajun & the Zydeco Brothers at the age of 12. Jim is now backed by some of the most well known and respected Cajun and Zydeco musicians in the UK.

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Lil' Jim & Deepzone Zydeco are fronted by Lil'Jim who is backed up by members of R.Cajun And The Zydeco Brothers, Zydecomotion and Joe Le Taxi; some of the best musicians on the UK Cajun and Zydeco scene. They play hardcore Zydeco and driving Cajun. A poweful musical style from the black, french speaking world of Louisiana. They are influenced by such artists as Keith Frank, Geno Delfose and Leon Chavis.
Meet the other band members:
Chris Hall on Bass Guitar. As the founder of Swampmusic, he has organised gigs and tours for his own bands plus major bands from Louisiana, USA for over 25 years. He runs the Gloucester Cajun and Zydeco Festival, which is the best festival in the UK for this style of music. In the late 70's he formed the first Cajun band in this country, R. Cajun, who are still going strong. Recent projects include recording with Paul McCartney, Bill Wyman and Kate Bush.
Murray Brailsford takes the role as guitarist. He provides rock solid rhythms and blasting solos. He also plays for R. Cajun and The Bearcats.
Sam Murray plays rubboard in the band. He is well known throughout the Cajun and Zydeco scene as he has played drums with many top bands of the genre.
Andy Watson is the drummer. For seven years he has intensly studied the top Zydeco drummers from Louisiana such as Brad Frank & Boss Hogg. He provides a rock steady rhythm that defies you to sit down.
